Congratulations, Cora & Asa on your bundle of joy. I can't wait to meet your little one during the holidays! Check out some of my favorite photos from our session in the Presidio at Andy Goldsworthy's Spire, plus a quick spin to the Marina. The sun came out to play, and the results are gorgeous. xo
Carey & Rochelle's Surprise Engagement Session at Crissy Field
All the way from Canada, Carey found me months before her cruise down to San Francisco to design a game plan for asking her love, Rochelle to marry her. In a very unique fashion, we pinpointed a specific bench (thanks to Google Earth) along Crissy Field and devised a plan for me to be there ahead of time to capture the proposal.
Our first meeting consisted of Rochelle nearly giving Carey an earful for "stealing that lady's bench and view" (haha), but I lingered at a safe distance, pretending to taking pictures of the scenery. With a tug of an ear, Carey signaled me to come in for a closer shot, and out came the teal blue box along with a very special question, followed by a resounding YES from Rochelle. :)
We took advantage of the joyful adrenaline that everyone had in them, and I feel like we became fast friends touring the Crissy Field area for some portraits with our gorgeous Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Congratulations, Carey and Rochelle. May you have a lifetime of happiness together. xo
Paul Love Catching Air in San Francisco
Big sky, big air, and big jumps in the big city of San Francisco is what you're seeing today.
I met Paul Love when my SF Portrait Meet group was shooting at Dolores Park, where his own group was skateboarding. We kept in touch over Instagram and finally found a time to do a formal shoot!
As Paul is an avid skateboarder, fisherman, and fan of the outdoor life, I wanted to put him in portraits taken from some of the most picturesque places that showed his personality. Between coffees and poki bowls, we put together our creative strengths and below is a fraction of the results. I'm so happy with these shots -- it was nearly impossible to pick favorites.
Thanks for trekking up to the city, Paul! If anyone would like to follow him, check out his Instagram.

Life(Style Portraits) Begins After Coffee!
All my life, I've been a night person. I stay up late enjoying all parts of life (including editing photos, haha), but in turn, I've never been a morning person. With our crazy schedules, Gina and I decided to meet at 7:30AM in San Francisco's Hayes Valley. The sun was low in the sky, no one was on the streets, and the businesses were closed... except Artís Coffee! We grabbed a couple of perfectly caffeinated lattes and let the fun began!
We visited our favorite spots in the area, including the Painted Ladies by Alamo Park, Golden Gate Park's Redwood Grove and Conservatory of Flowers, and of course the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge. Check out my favorite shots from our session below.
Gina, you're gonna make a morning person out of me. =)
San Francisco Fashion Photography: Nancy at the Presidio Batteries [ Adore to Adorn ]
This is a woman after my own heart. When I read Nancy's words about her choices in style and fashion, at the core, it's really not just about the clothes. Being a new(ish) mom myself, the way we put ourselves together is conducive to the way we need (and want) to live our lives. It's smart to invest in items that are practical, versatile, resilient, and long lasting... just like us. :) And who says it can't be super cute!? Just take a look at her.
Check out these photos from our SUPER windy session at the batteries overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge (I shouldn't have even thought of busting out a reflector -- it'd fly into the ocean). This isn't the first time I've shot here, but it seems new every time because there are so many unique corners of this place that are full of gritty textures... the perfect contrast (and compliment!) to Nancy's style, which you may see more of at Adore to Adorn.
If you're looking to highlight your style in a shoot like this, contact me and let's chat ideas! I need more of this in my life. xo
