Welcome to the world, Emiko! Years ago, your mom, Shawna and I we were both living in San Francisco along the cable car line as roomies, and fast forward several years later -- here we are now with beautiful first-borns. These photos were taken during your first weeks of life in your bright, beautiful, loving home. I'm so lucky to have been invited to capture your adorable little facial expressions as a newborn. You'll grow so fast - I can't wait to see more of your mom and dad's features appear in you.

Congratulations, Shiggy and Tyler on your beautiful baby girl. She is exquisite and in the best hands. xo

And last but not least, here's Emiko's doggy brother, Howie. He loved posing for pictures just like his baby sister. Keep your head up, pup... life's going to be a tad different now! ;)

Yerba Buena Portraits with Amrita and Hafiza - San Francisco

I love that Yerba Buena is so convenient to visit between SoMA and the Financial District, not to mention that it's gorgeous! Amrita and Hafiza met me here for a quick portrait session, and we took a breather from this hot San Francisco afternoon next door at the Metreon Center. Despite the heat, both of these beauties managed to keep looking cool. Looking forward to meeting again, ladies! :)

San Francisco Maternity Portraits: Karen and Ollie at Stow Lake

With only a little over one month until Karen and Ollie's baby girl arrives, it's hard to believe that they pre-registered at the hospital for the pending birth only hours before meeting me for their maternity session. Karen definitely has that pregnancy glow, and it shows in her beautiful portraits! We met at Stow Lake and took a nice and easy walk around the island in Golden Gate Park.

I love this location for new moms and mommies-to-be because it's relatively flat in most of the picturesque spots, plus it's stroller friendly for when the baby arrives. There's plenty of shade due to the huge amount of gorgeous foliage, so shooting at any time of day is possible. In this case, we met at noon, which is typically the most disadvantageous time to take photos due to harsh light. But with a little bit of flash and some reflectors in the shade, anything is possible!

San Francisco Family Photography: The Leo Family at the Palace of Fine Arts

Andrea and Jim have a lot to celebrate -- their two little girls have birthdays coming up! We met at the Palace of Fine Arts here in beautiful San Francisco, and the sun was shining bright. This session was short and sweet, but we found enough time to play with bubbles! Thanks to my son, Noah for lending his bubble gun to momma for work... :)

Lewis's 1st Birthday Party in Fountain Valley

Congratulations to Jennifer and Josh on their first year of parenthood! Their firstborn, Lewis turns one this April and they had an amazing birthday (and farewell) party at their home in Fountain Valley. Not only was I able to enjoy time with my nephew and all his friends and family who love him, but I was invited by Jen and Josh to capture their memories in photos.
