The Financial District has gorgeous hidden gems! Jake and I met for some delicious matcha tea followed by a quick "outfit of the day" lunchtime session for her blog and Instagram. We agreed that it's a blessing to live in San Francisco, where you can find contrasting beauty around every corner. :)

She's a quadruple threat, really. Geek, gamer, singer, host. You'll find Shannon Morse (aka Snubs) pretty much anywhere you want to learn about technology, security, and gaming. Just look up TekThing, Threat Wire, Hak5 and HakTip, SGNL by Sony, Tekzilla, and TWiT. Not only that, but she's been a good friend of mine since we met at CES years ago.
I was honored to collaborate with Shannon on these set of portraits while touring the coast line of San Francisco. We played with a little purple smoke, we hung off some cliffs, and jumped over some fences into a field just to get these shots. And after it all, we stuffed our faces with Burmese food at Mandalay. Engagement sessions seems to come in waves, so I better get ready for the next one! I've had a few requests to shoot in Golden Gate Park, Treasure Island and Sutro Baths, all popular romantic places. My beautiful friend, Jeel and I toured San Francisco on a beautiful, sunny day and tested all sorts of light at these destinations. I can safely say that after this session, we can control lumination nicely with minimal equipment even when conditions provide harsh or dimming light during the lovely golden hour. We now joke that "gravity is boring" after shooting this set of photos that includes jumping! Jake wanted to highlight overalls that can be worn three different ways for her blog. I used a 70-200mm lens on my Sony A7 for these shots and tested shutter speeds when she was in motion. Check out the results!
As a bonus, I got this beauty shot of our Golden Gate Bridge at about 4:30pm. Love SF.
This session is near and dear to my heart because it was my first real fashion-centric shoot. Wardrobe changes, shifting weather (it rained!), and practicing verbal directions to a model were all part of the deal. Thanks, Jeel for being a wonderful subject!
